Project Summary
- Dodd Modular was commissioned to create custom large-scale conveyors specifically for the transportation of Modular houses measuring up to 16m x 4m and weighing up to 24 tonnes.
- This initiative could serve as a prototype for future contracts related to the design and construction of Modular factories, as Dodd Modular aims to provide a standardised “off the shelf” solution that offers reduced lead times and improved cost efficiency.
- The design is unique within the industry, presenting Dodd Modular with the chance to cater to the fast-growing and rapidly changing Modular construction sector, which demands innovative and effective solutions.
Technological challenges solved
- Ability to carry up to 24 tonne Modular units
- Safe movement of the system around operatives
- Designing the system to carry 12 modules at a time
